2021 Browns Backers Presidents’ Summit Weekend: An Experience I Will Never Forget

Every year, Browns Backers clubs from all over travel to Cleveland, Ohio to participate in many different events. My father and I run the Lake Norman Browns Backers in Mooresville, NC, so we got invited to Cleveland and join in on this fun-filled adventure. The events that were included in this event were as follows: Attend training camp, dinner and locker room sale at First Energy Stadium, and entry into the Orange and Brown scrimmage. Before I cover these events, I will begin with the unexpected.

Training camp started in the afternoon on August 7, 2021. My dad and I arrive at Berea early since our registration started at 10 am. We were so early that nothing was set up for us yet. We come up with the idea to head on over to ‘The Grindstone’, a bar and grill in Berea, Ohio. As we arrive, we see a bunch of different Browns Backers clubs from all over and they were doing 50/50 raffles and selling merchandise, etc. It was a great way to socialize and meet others.

Little did we know, there were former Browns Alumni players arriving to join and meet with us. My dad and I ended up meeting Hanford Dixon, Kevin Mack, Travis Tucker and Felix Wright. All of these guys were so nice to us and I thought it was super cool since my dad was right next to me as he got to meet the players he grew up idolizing. It was an all-around great moment for the both of us.

After socializing and getting autographs signed, we now head to training camp. I went to training camp with the Browns Backers back in 2019 as well, and I will tell you that this time around, training camp was much different. You could tell that the team was disciplined, the music was not too loud, and everything was all business. We did not see iffy team chemistry as we witnessed back in 2019. We did not see Kevin Stefanski changing up Myles Garrett’s songs at practice as Kitchens did. Everything was all business and the Browns look ready to go this season.

All-in-all this was an amazing experience and I cannot wait to possibly participate in this again next year. It is so fun to meet former players of the Browns and meet fans from different areas. It makes me realize that when some of us leave Cleveland, we bring Cleveland with us. That is what makes the Browns Backers what we are. For anyone ever driving through or visiting in the Charlotte, NC region, stop on up and say hello to us as we all cheer on the Browns together. We are all one big family who wants one thing…to win!

I am ready for some Browns football and I cannot wait to see what great things we accomplish this year. Go Browns!
